Hair care tips
BE GENTLE!
One of the most important things about hair extensions is that you have to baby them. When you are brushing your hair, be gentle. Always use a wide tooth comb, always comb or brush hair from the bottom up, small sections at a time. For CURLY hair please detangle it when in water with conditioner. Do not comb it after it is dry, otherwise it will cause tangling and matting. Without the proper treatment, your hair extensions will get damaged quickly.
WHAT PRODUCTS SHOULD I USE?
Hair Care Products are highly recommended. Use a good (leave-in) conditioner to keep your hair soft. Don't over do it. Too much conditioner or any other hair care product can cause a build up and tangling. Avoid hair products that contain too much alcohol. Too much Alcohol makes hair dry.
1.Condition hair regularly
- Detangle hair gently before washing. Do not rub or twist hair
- Only use mild shampoo to clean once monthly. Rinse thoroughly. Then use condition for 3-5 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.
- Blot out excess water with towel and allow hair to dry naturally. Do not expose to sun
- Comb curly hair gently with your fingers from end to top. Do not brush
- You can Brush straighter hair in a downward motion straight with the ends. Work your way up to the roots.
- Certain hair should not be brushed. Consult your trained hair stylist if in doubt.
- Hair may tangled if care directions are not followed properly
CURLY HAIR CARE
Passion wavy/ Sassy Curly /Bali Curly hair always needs more maintenance than body wavy or straight hair, please make sure you can handle this maintenance, or consultant with a professional if you are unfamiliar with the maintenance of virgin curly hairs. Curly hair needs to be wet Often to keep from tangling frizzing and matting. You will need to purchase an empty spray bottle. Fill bottle with water and add just a little conditioner, maybe teaspoon. Shake and spray everyday. You want curly hair to be moist everyday.
ALSO CONDITION 2X WEEKLY. (Our Conditioner ) Only use our SHAMPOO once a month. Shampooing( Once a Month) When shampooing make sure your hair is not bunched up or piled on top of your head… This badly tangles hair. Instead of doing this, gently wash vertically in one direction only. Be sure to use a rather gentle shampoo and don't skimp on the quality. If your extensions are sewn in, you need to treat them like your own.
HEAT
When Applying Heat please use heat protectant to protect your hair. Straightening your hair on Extreme high heat can cause unrepairable damages. We would highly recommend an ionic dryer, as they wont damage the hair. Also use good quality straightening irons and curling rods. We recommend air drying your hair extensions. Swimming & Exercise Wash the hair immediately after swimming! When dirt and sweat accumulates, hair mattes, tangles, and becomes unmanageable.
Be sure to always wear a swim cap made of latex. Carefully comb out any tangles that may be present starting from the bottom and working your way up. Once the hair has been detangled braid the hair in two braids to ensure that all of the hair is protected and tucked neatly under the cap. Following your dip, be sure to wash your hair immediately to remove any damaging chemical that may have snuck under your cap.
NEVER SLEEP ON WET HAIR.
Make sure your hair is completely dry before you go to bed. It is also recommended to wrap your hair together or gently tie it up to prevent tangling. LACE FRONTAL/ CLOSURE CARE Brush With Care Before washing a lace closure/frontal gently remove hair knots and tangles with your fingers. Then, gently brush through the lace closure/frontal hair with a soft bristle brush or comb it through with a wide tooth comb. Avoid yanking or pulling on the lace closure/frontal, as this may cause hair to fall out or cause hair strands to become loose.
Don’t over wash your hair. Limit washing to once a week and use a Conditioner or when the hair feels extremely dry. Also always use a deep penetrating hair conditioner and leave it in the hair 5-10 minutes before rinsing the hair unit thoroughly with lukewarm water.
LACE CARE
We do not recommend bleaching the knots. Bleaching the knots incorrectly will cause lace balding/ Shedding. We are not responsible for lace balding due to bleaching. We will not exchange or refund closures or frontals due to shedding or balding.
